🔧 Punjab Secretary Nadia Saqib Criticizes Poor Healthcare Delivery in Okara DHQ Hospital
Okara (GN Ghalib News, Bureau Chief Javed Rahi) – Punjab Secretary for Health and Population, Nadia Saqib, conducted a thorough inspection of DHQ City Hospital Okara, raising serious concerns over the quality of healthcare services and administrative shortcomings.
During her visit, she interacted with patients and reviewed various departments. Expressing strong dissatisfaction, she termed the current state of service delivery and administrative functioning as "unacceptable."
“Immediate administrative reforms are necessary to bring visible improvements to public healthcare,” said Secretary Nadia Saqib.
She stressed the importance of structural and strategic changes within government hospitals, noting that only through reform can hospitals meet the needs of the people.
As part of an ongoing effort to improve rural healthcare, emergency services will soon be extended to all Rural Health Centers (RHCs) under the Health and Population Department’s new initiative. The goal is to make quality medical care more accessible, especially in remote areas.
The Secretary further emphasized systemic accountability and called for enhanced oversight across all health centers in Okara District.
Her visit reflects a renewed focus on health sector transparency, efficiency, and commitment to public welfare in Punjab’s evolving healthcare system.
