Urgent Administrative Reforms Ordered to Enhance Public Service Delivery in Government Hospitals
Okara (GN Ghalib News, Bureau Chief Javed Rahi) Punjab Secretary for Health and Population, Nadia Saqib, conducted a detailed inspection of DHQ City Hospital in Okara, where she reviewed medical facilities across various departments and sought feedback from patients. Expressing strong dissatisfaction with the hospital’s administration, she criticized the poor performance in public service delivery and administrative affairs.
During her visit, Secretary Saqib emphasized that administrative reforms are essential for improving the functionality of government hospitals. She highlighted that strategic changes in various departments are critical to enhancing the public service delivery process. “The current state of affairs in public healthcare facilities is unacceptable, and immediate steps must be taken to address these shortcomings,” she stated.
In a bid to elevate healthcare standards, Nadia Saqib announced ongoing efforts to extend emergency services under the Secretary Health and Population Punjab initiative to Rural Health Centers (RHCs) across the district. These measures aim to ensure that quality medical care is accessible at the grassroots level.
The Secretary also reviewed the delivery process of medical services in government hospitals and health centers throughout Okara district, underscoring the need for systemic improvements to meet public expectations. Her visit signals a renewed focus on accountability and efficiency in Punjab’s healthcare system, with further actions expected to address the identified issues.
