CCD Police Crush Crime Wave in Okara: Mazhari Bharwana Arrested After Fierce Encounter

Okara, June 21, 2025 — In a bold crackdown near Kisan Ada, the CCD Police Okara engaged in a high-intensity exchange of fire with four armed robbers, leading to the arrest of two suspects, including the notorious Mazhar Iqbal alias Mazhari Bharwana — a feared criminal figure across the Bharwana region.
Led by DO CCD Mehr Muhammad Yousuf, the operation was launched during a routine patrol and turned into a firefight when the suspects opened fire. In response, the CCD officers acted swiftly and bravely, wounding and apprehending Mazhari Bharwana and his accomplice Ali Ahmed (son of Bashir).
Both were shifted to DHQ Hospital Okara for treatment, while two other suspects fled the scene. However, DO Yousuf confirmed that targeted raids are underway, and arrests are expected soon.

A case has been registered against the suspects under charges including:

Investigations further revealed the involvement of the suspects in multiple cases of robbery, burglary, and theft.

Locals of the Bharwana area, who had long suffered under Mazhari Bharwana’s criminal reign, expressed deep gratitude.
“This is a moment of relief for us. The police have proven their commitment to our safety,” said a resident.

Regional Officer CCD Sahiwal Region stated that the crackdown against criminals will continue without pause.
“Our operations are indiscriminate and relentless.”
DO CCD Yousuf added: “We will not rest until Okara is free from the grip of crime.”
