The operation, led by DO CCD Mehr Muhammad Yousuf, has been hailed as a significant victory in the fight against crime in Okara.
According to DO CCD Mehr Muhammad Yousuf, the CCD team came under heavy fire from the suspects during a routine patrol near Kisan Ada. Displaying remarkable bravery, the police retaliated, injuring and apprehending Mazhari Bharwana and his accomplice, Ali Ahmed, son of Bashir. Two other suspects managed to flee the scene, but police have launched extensive raids to apprehend them, with DO Yousuf assuring the public that they will soon be brought to justice.
The operation yielded significant recoveries, including a Push Push, a pistol, and several bullets from the crime scene. A case has been registered against the suspects under charges of assault on police, resistance, and illegal weapons possession. Further investigation revealed that Mazhari Bharwana and Ali Ahmed were involved in multiple cases of robbery, theft, and burglary, making their arrest a major blow to criminal networks in the region.
Mazhari Bharwana, in particular, had become a symbol of fear in the Bharwana area, with residents living under the constant threat of his criminal activities. Following his arrest, the local community expressed gratitude to the CCD Police for restoring a sense of safety. “This is a moment of relief for us,” said a local resident. “The police have shown they are committed to protecting us.”
